The Gospel & Grace Versus the Flesh

The Gospel & Grace Versus the Flesh

“…And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” (Matthew 24:6)

In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus clearly warned of the imminent and universal conflict around the globe. Yes, these are the last of the last days and the warfare will be growing more intense. This warfare is not isolated to external factions and nations. The ever-expanding internal warfare of the soul of man is being cultivated by the competing sectors of our carnal desires against our spiritual needs. Paul spoke about this in his epistle to the Romans (Chapter 7). This internal conflict seems relentless and exhausting. But, as soldiers for Christ, we must (now more than ever) be physically, emotionally and spiritually ready to take up our cross (the standard) and assault the gates of Hell (Matthew 16:18).

As “good” soldiers, we must also guard against in-fighting, subversion and insurrection; all which God considers an abomination (Proverbs 6:16-19). Finally, as solders destined for victory, we must know our mission, who the enemy really is, and therefore, the only effective weapons. Not sure? Visit Ephesians 6:10-13.

Blessings!!!
